Good news for all the travelers out there! Turkey is going to have a super-high-speed train line project that will connect Ankara and Istanbul. This means that you can travel between these two cities in just 89 minutes!
The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, announced this project and the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, shared some details about it.
The Plan For The Future
Karaismailoğlu said that they are not only thinking about the present but also planning for the future. They want to develop the railways and make high-speed trains available throughout Turkey. They believe that railways are an important part of our lives and they want to bring a new age of railways to Turkey.
The Length Of The Line
The super high-speed train line will be built on the Ankara – Nallıhan and Sakarya route. It will be 344 kilometers long and will have 19 viaducts with a length of 14 kilometers and 52 tunnels with a length of 120 kilometers. The train will reach a speed of 350 kilometers per hour.
With this super-high-speed train line, you can travel from Ankara to Istanbul in just 89 minutes, which is 1.5 hours. This is a huge improvement from the current travel time. After the election, the project will start and they will continue to use the existing high-speed train line as well.
